Join Bronson Methodist Hospital  and Channel 3 for the 29th annual Family Health Fair Saturday, September 8, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., at Bronson Park in downtown Kalamazoo.

Join hospital staff and community organizations from the greater Kalamazoo area for more than 90 exhibits offering hands-on educational activities that provide fun for the whole family, from toddlers to grandparents.

Screenings include heart risk assessments and blood pressure testing by Bronson Family Practice Downtown, as well as pulse oximetry testing by Bronson Home Health Care.

Other activities include Bronson’s mock surgical suite, the fire prevention trailer, and the poison prevention puppet show. The Kalamazoo Township Fire Department will be holding its Firefighter Combat Challenge, and ambulances will be on-site for exploration. Bronson Radiology will bring back “Mr. Bones,” and Bronson Rambling Road Pediatrics will feature “Safety Sam.” Children will also be allowed to ride in wheelchairs and hospital beds.

Children are invited to stop by the News 3 tent and have their picture taken to be a Weather Wear Kid. Make sure to bring clothes depicting different kinds of weather (especially rainy and snowy…we really need those) and you could be the next Weather Wear Kid with Ron Boyd, weekday mornings at 6am and 7am on News 3. Parents, two outfits per child limit please.

Other offerings at this year’s Family Health Fair include nutrition tips, healthy food menus, women’s health information, massages, car safety checks from Kalamazoo County SAFE KIDS Coalition, and more.

In case of hard rain or severe weather, cancellation announcements will be made on the day of the Health Fair, starting at 7:00 a.m., on Channel 3 and local radio stations.
